Roman blinds are a great alternative to curtains, to provide an understated elegance. They are a flat panel of fabric, which when drawn up, fold into soft pleats. The blind is supported by rods placed in pockets from the back of the blind to keep the folds crisp. The blind can be placed in the recess or outside the recces depending on your individual windows and is made to measure, we can advise you to which would suit your individual window best.
The blind will then have a layer of interlining sandwiched between the main fabric and the lining fabric at the back. This is usually done using a blackout interlining. This provides insulation, blackout effect, and also helps add structure to the blind. My Roman blinds are handmade, so no visible stitching is showing from the front to provide a high-quality result.
The blinds are then fitted onto a Roman blind headrail, which is operated by a chain and can be supplied in a variety of colours to complement your interior design scheme.
